Sludge pioneers Negative Reaction crawled forth from the sewers of Long Island, NY in the early 90's to deliver a nasty brand of heaviness borne from Hardcore roots. The second full-length album from Negative Reaction is perhaps our favorite from the band's long and storied history. Showcasing their 38-minute magnum opus 'The Moon Song,' Negative stakes out their place in the pantheon of Sludge with The Orion Chronicles. Unlike 'Jerusalem' or 'Supercoven,' 'The Moon Song' is formatted more like a movie piece, with movements and breaks, dynamics and progression. When it finally finishes, leaving you crushed and beyond hope, the pulverizing 'Hypothermia' comes in to finish the job. Lastly, on a hidden and unlisted track, Ken E. Bones pays homage to Space Rock legends Hawkwind with a throbbing version of 'Lords Of Light.'
