SEVENTH GENOCIDE - Toward Akina CD (digipak)

The band was originally formed in 2006 and got to release the early demo material around 2012. At the very beginning, the music was mainly focused on black metal but soon evolved into a more personal style. With the first LP "Breeze of Memories", the music bore the first symptoms of mutation, sounding more post-black metal oriented, also due to the insertion of more "contemplative" acoustic folk and post-rock passages. After a strong line-up change, the band's sound and approach to songwriting moved toward a more experimental attitude. From this point of view, the forthcoming album "Toward Akina“ shows this new dimension, still influenced by post-rock & black metal, but in a darker and more introspective way. We think of "Toward Akina" as an introspective journey through death and the realms of non-physical existence, with the intention to express the depth of human consciousness across a huge variety of musical influences. From dark atmospheric black metal soundscapes to trippy psychedelic and ambient layers.

The concept of the album is focalized on death and transcendence from human to spiritual being across the astral planes of existence, analyzing life and love as causes of dissatisfaction and the powerlessness of the human condition in relation to the immensity and the eternity of nature. Those themes take shape through a rich blend of different musical genres and influences. Post-Black Metal played with a 70’s rock taste and contaminated with atmospheric post-rock parts and Pink Floyd-ish psychedelic passages.
