Great debut album from Iceland's technical death metal band Ophidian I.The Metal Observer [8.5/3]:Icelandic natives OPHIDIAN I present their 612 full-length debut, Solvet Saeclum, a beautifully conceived Technical Death Metal album that begins quite unexpectedly. The opener "Mark of an Obsidian" starts with a soft weaving of bass and guitar and gently played drums, and only when the coarse vocals snarl into play does the band transition into their true sound. Although the tone changes from soft-to-aggressive, the melodic undertone remains.OPHIDIAN I consistently transition rhythm and melody with ease.
