The band from Kaliningrad region cooked us a new dish — the second full-length album titled ‘The Professor Bequeathed Grindcore to Us’. This release demonstrates the development of creative potential of THANATOPHAGIA and has a more versatile approach to the sound. This time the musicians decided not to limit themselves to grindcore. There is a place for crust and death metal elements adding more dimension and aggression to the music. The album consists of 15 songs, inclusive of 14 original songs and a cover of a song by Гражданская Оборона (Grazhdanskaya Oborona). The work on this album was commenced back in 2023. After several months of intense rehearsals and studio sessions THANATOPHAGIA presents the results of its musical experiments. The band continues to investigate the facets of extreme music balancing between uptempo grindcore, tense and mighty riffs of crust and monolithic heaviness of death metal.
