Los Angeles based THE FUNERAL PYRE rise above the new wave of young US bands influenced by the European stylings of melodic death metal and black metal. With a huge internet “buzz band” following and touring in the US with Trivium, 3 Inches Of Blood, Darkest Hour and Vader under their belts, their “The Nature Of Betrayal” debut for Prosthetic is already receiving mass press acclaim stateside. “The Nature Of Betrayal” harnesses the energy, brutality and creativity of this essential young band at the heart of the contemporary extreme metal scene. Forming in Southern California in 2001, THE FUNERAL PYRE has already cut its teeth and amassed an underground following through a string of self-booked national and west coast tours, shows alongside bands as far and wide as Trivium, 3 Inches of Blood, Through The Eyes Of The Dead, Suffocation, Job For A Cowboy among others, and a string of demos and independent releases prior to hooking up with Bay Area indie metal label Creator Destructor Records in 2006.
